About

Our Story

In the summer of 2025, the first “No Kings” protests across the country were taking shape. They were projected to draw record numbers of first-time protesters into the streets to resist increasing authoritarianism.

In downtown Athens, Georgia, a group of friends and longtime activists asked each other a simple question: “There are so many people who want to change things for the better. We can do more than just a day in the street. What if we got together with them regularly about how to change things for real?”

… and what if there was food?

They planned a potluck at a nearby park, printed off a stack of flyers, handed them all out at Athens’ own No King’s protest, and hoped for the best.

Turns out quite a few Athenians liked the idea and showed up. We’ve kept showing up and inviting others ever since. We hope you’ll come by too.
